Lockdown 3: Updates from DTA

This third lockdown may be the hardest of them all. The Devon Together Alliance Partners are still working and are here to help. In the next few days we will post updates on support available during lockdown. In this post, you’ll find information on three DTA partners, Devon Communities Together, BCHA, and Colab. Devon Communities Together

As communities respond to the easing of lockdown measures, we have developed our helpline to support Town and Parish Councils, Village Halls and Community Buildings into the recovery phase.  For advice and support, you can phone the Covid-19 Community Local Outbreak & Recovery helpline: 0808 1963390. Devon Communities Together are here to help communities respond to the pandemic with the most effective, safe, and co-ordinated responses. The helpline will be staffed 9am to 5pm on weekdays for the foreseeable future. Please telephone 0808 1963390 or email info@devoncommunities.org.uk and someone will get back to you.

All BCHA supported accommodation and services remain open but are restricted to essential services. We believe that no one should be evicted because of the coronavirus, and want anyone affected by the outbreak living in our accommodation to be reassured they will not be evicted. As charitable organisations, housing associations recognise that a number of people living in social housing work for low or irregular wages in insecure employment and may be placed in serious difficulties as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

We urge anyone living in any of our housing who is worried about financial difficulties, to get in touch with us now. We can talk though any concerns and offer additional help or signposting to the right people, including help claiming benefits. Please call your Housing or Tenancy Officers or the Income Recovery Team directly if you have their number, or via the main Customer Services on 01202 410500.

We have an Information Service available for people who are supported by agencies based at CoLab that is open between 10am and 2pm Monday – Friday. This includes the provision of safe space for people to have essential one to one meetings with their support workers. In addition to this we have a phone service available between 9am and 4pm Monday – Friday, please call 01392 202055. Or you can email us at enquiries@colabexeter.org.uk.
