Become a Recovery Coach

by | Mar 24, 2021

EDP has an exciting new opportunity for volunteers in the Devon area. If you are in stable recovery you could become an accredited Recovery Coach.

As a Recovery Coach you will become part of a team providing 1-1 coaching, advice and signposting to people going through transitions in their recovery journeys – be that moving on from structured treatment with a drug and alcohol service, leaving prison or returning to their home after rehab. You will support individuals to identify goals and build vital networks within their local community.

All Recovery Coaches are accredited to Level 3 with a recognised Recovery Coach qualification. The training takes place over 6 days and once you begin in role you will be offered regular supervision, training and support.

This is a ‘lived experience’ role: to be eligible you need to have ‘walked to the walk’ of recovery yourself so you can offer true empathy to others taking earlier steps of their own journey. To apply, you should be at least 6-12 months into stable recovery, with no use of illicit substances.
